PEABODY HEIGHTS BREWERY
Designed by KC, this mural was a true labor of love, an homage dedicated to both the history of this site, and his own personal family history with baseball. In 1944, a discarded cigarette managed to burn down the fifth Orioles Park, also known as Terrapin Park. This wall, originally located on the left side of the outfield, is the only piece standing from the original architecture, and is designated as a historical marker commemorating the stadium. My dad and uncle grew up using backyard baseball as an escape from their home life, turning the city streets into a stadium in their minds’ eye. This ability to play competitively with our friends, family, and neighbors in a wholesome capacity is something that we sometimes take for granted. I wanted to show two young men, frozen in a moment of competitive glory, distracted from their lives by big league dreams.
